Joker Lips

SMILE
its a chance to make someone's day,
infect them with your smile, I'll say!!

Sometimes I just wonder, is it that hard to smile? Or does it actually hurt to do so? Most people, in general, living the average everyday life, would not think about such trivial things, but its these petty yet important things that make the world a better place to live in.

Happiness is only grin deep... It takes a greater number of facial muscles to frown than it does to smile. You'd use about 43 muscles to frown, whereas, only 17 to smile. So smile, be energy efficient, conserve energy! lol

The term "emo kid". Cheer up, emo kid!

If you're afraid that people might judge you when you smile, chances are that you might have tainted teeth that arent nice to look at... Brush them! or maybe your local dentist may be of help, but if he, too, runs away from you, you've gotta start praying hard. People dont always look at you in a bad way; either you stare too intently, or you're simply in too close a proximity with them, otherwise, I dont think many will hesitate to reciprocate your friendlyness with a pleasant smile... ^_^

Why do people shun away from or feel disgusted just because this person lost a tooth? okay, maybe a few teeth... Probably it was some barfight he got into, or maybe it was that she feel down a flight of stairs and accidentally hit her jaw on the railings, who knows? You know what I think? its simple, really... Just look at that person as you would at a child that's teething, with a tooth or two... on a more personal note, I find that when the elderly smile - those without dentures - they'd look somewhat more genuine than the rest of us; yeah, its a happy feeling.

Moral of the story : It aint that hard, I guess you'd figure it out yourself... but remember, do smile while you're thinking about the answer. =)

Jokes - imprint smiles on faces :
Scientists have told us that it takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 muscles to smile, this leads to two conclusions :
1. Scientists have WAY too much free time on their hands!
2. Frowning uses more muscles, and therefore burns more calories.

Of Cheap Food & Aussie Life

Last night, I was invited over to Ps. Jeremy's place for steamboat dinner along with my ex-churchmate from NLS and his dad. Boy, was that the best steamboat I've ever had; it was simple, yet tasty!

When we arrived at pastor's house, Phileo Wong - yes, the dog has a surname too, people send postcards to this dog you know, and apparently he can read too- greeted us ever so warmly by sniffing our feet and barking cheerfully... Then came the Khoo family and Jem Goh, and within minutes, it was time to DIG IN! ;p

Pastor and aunt Carol made roast pork; uncle Andrew had taught them apparently, I wanna make one too one of these days. Aunt Margaret had already finished prepping the steampot the minute she stepped into the house, the soup was boiling furiously, waiting to consume its first victims... And as the soup came to boil, we lifted the lid of the steampot and the mouth-watering aroma filled the entire hall; in went the first batch.

Fishball, diced lamb, har kow (prawn dumplings), enoki mushrooms, and my personal favourite: chew zhou fishballs. At first, I thought it was merely like any other fishballs, but when I took a bite, just like in those cooking movies, the tasty juice that was stored up in the fishball after being boiled for a while flowed out, and there was even meat inside! Oh man, that was tasty! And being the selfish person I am, I ate them all, leaving not a single one for anyone else... (you know that's a lie, haha)

The real fun begins after the meal, cos then the parents started to talk about Migration!!! lol, ok it wasnt that bad, just looks nicer in bold, haha... so then, the conversation goes like this :

*Note : The exact words of the conversation was not recorded so that I could replay it and write about it in my blog, so if I've made any mistakes, pls sue me, but I think its close enough... ;p

Pastor J : "So Philip, have any thoughts of migrating to australia?"

Uncle Philip : "Yea, I've thought of that sometimes, and it just might be better of than Malaysia, but then, you know my wife and about family..."

Uncle Khoo : "Well, that's one thing, but do you know how Aussie life really is, after settling down and all that?"

Pastor J : "Its quiet." And a streak of silence follows... "Ah well, there's always us around!!" And they all burst into laughter.

Jem Goh : "But you've gotta weigh the situation as well..." Just then, everyone listened ever so intently. "Well, no more tasty RM4 authentic char kuey teow anymore, just $10 chapalang (crappy) char kuey teow here..."

Uncle Philip : "Hmm, true also. That's a tough decision to make..."

And the chatter went on and on, that was a wonderful dinner. ;)

Reminder :
Things to try out - Roast pork!!
i - get a piece of thin, flat pork rib.
ii - season with salt... alot of salt
iii - leave to grill in oven at 200 degrees for about 45mins
iv - try not to charcoal it... ;p

Credits to Uncle Andrew, best pork roaster!

Jokes - makes bills payable :
A doctor gave a man six months to live. The man couldn't pay his bill, so he gave him another six months. - Henny Youngman

New Breeze

I've come a long way... had some do's, loads of dont's; but yet, nothing compares to living through every single one the way I did. The way I see it: I'd rather have experienced all of it - all the bumps and bruises - than have it passed me by, unscathed. If someone asks me whether or not I wanted to know about my future, I'd say, "no, let it come a day at a time".

So many thing you've done in the past, you wish could be rewritten, but that's the thing with everyone... why look back and try change something that you know you cant, when instead you could easily look towards what lies ahead and make the difference?

Everyday's a new adventure, part of the journey; new sights, aiming towards different goals, or the same one; expect dramas, comedy, and intrigues; for no one knows what the future holds but God, I'd gladly make a memory of my old life, lay it down behind me, step forward, and enjoy the new breeze...
